How to Make a simple frame: I am using CS3 (ps)

Create a New Image, 350-350. Using you Rectangle tool (U) Drag a box the size you want your frame to be.

I use the whole image surface. This will then show you the box you dragged.

Now go to Layers, Rasterize,Layer. Then Use your Magic Wand tool and click the box, you will then see marching ants arounf it. Go to Select, Modify, Contract. This is where you will pick the width of your frame.

If you want a thin frame to use dings with. you may want to use 2-3 a thicker frame you made want to use 10-20. I will use 3. Press OK. You will now see that the marching ants have jumped inside the frame leaving a small edge. on your keyboard. Hit Backspace to delete this area. Then to Select, Deselect. This is now your basic frame, you can start to add dings or you can simply add a style.
