--Coloring a VP--Tutorial

Open the image you would like to color.

Select: Layer-New-Layer

With your Brush Tool select a color to use on the skin. I am using a4866a. With your Brush tool set with a brush size of about 30, (Depending on what size object you need to color) and an Opacity of about 50% and flow of 100% color over the area of skin you are wishing to colour. it will look milky. In Your layers palette set the color layer to COLOUR.

Create another layer and color this same process for every other

part u need to color. ie, clothes, lips, hair.

Once everything is colored, Merge your layers.

You will now need to pic a background for the vp. Drag it into your layer

Palette and make sure that your vp image is over it, (you shouldn’t be a

ble to see the bg)

Select your Eraser tool and simply erase around the image trying to take

all the background out to replace it with your new background. (a tip for

this is to start off with aOpacity of 50% so that way you have a bit of

a blending effect. your brush size will be determined by the size of the

are you need to erase.

Once this is done you can either Merge the layers or you can first put a drop shadow on the top layer if you desire this effect (the vp image).

After your image has been merged Duplicate your layer. with the top layer

set it to Soft Light to add depth. then Merge.

I like to have my vps very sharp. To do this I simply set the brush to a

larger scale, (about 100) then I run the Sharpen Tool over the image

until its to my desired level.

If you wish to smooth out the skin in a quick way create a duplicate

layer and then go to FILTER-BLUR-Gaussian Blur. I used a Radius of 0.8

pixels on the bottom layer. Then on the top layer use your eraser tool and simply erase any area you'd like to see more smooth

Once you are done, Merge your layers and add your name!!
